Quality financial advice always stems from a deep-seated passion for helping others, and this has been true for David on a scale that most people will never experience.

Before making the financial services industry his ‘home’, David started his career as a military aircraft engineer with the RAF/RNZAF, where he spent 17 years diagnosing complex problems in some of the world's hotspots.

Being part of the RAF Search and Rescue team meant being ‘on call’ 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to go to the aid of those in difficulty. To David, the rewards far outweighed the efforts: “The feeling of giving a person back safe to their family will stay with me forever.”

David has taken this people-centric approach into the rest of his career. Following his departure from the military, he has held roles in business development and client relationship management, until he finally joined Advice4Life in 2021.

“I believe managing life’s risks and protecting what is important isn’t just a one-time conversation,” says David. “It’s an ever-evolving strategy that morphs around your needs."

When he’s not meeting with clients, you’ll find David spending time with his wife Kirsty and three children, mountain biking, or scuba diving in stunning Hawke’s Bay.
